🌍 Sustainability at Sea
At the ORC DH Worlds 2025, we recognize that the sea is not only our racecourse but also a fragile ecosystem that must be respected and protected. Sustainability is therefore an integral part of our event’s philosophy and organization.
Our Commitments
Reducing Waste: We actively work to minimize the use of single-use plastics, favoring reusable and biodegradable alternatives. Crews and staff are encouraged to bring and use their own refillable bottles and containers.
Responsible Waste Management: Recycling and waste sorting stations are provided both on shore and at sea, ensuring that all materials are properly collected and disposed of.
Eco-Friendly Materials: Whenever possible, regatta equipment, crew packs, and event branding are produced with sustainable or recycled materials.
Energy and Water Efficiency: We aim to reduce unnecessary consumption in logistics, hospitality, and onshore facilities, with a preference for renewable sources and efficient technologies.
Education and Awareness: Through communication, briefings, and dedicated signage, we promote a culture of environmental responsibility among sailors, volunteers, and visitors.
A Shared Responsibility
We kindly invite all participants, teams, partners, and supporters to join us in this commitment. Simple actions such as avoiding littering at sea, reusing resources, and respecting marine life make a real difference.
By acting together, we can ensure that competitive sailing continues to thrive while preserving the natural beauty of our oceans for future generations.
⛵ Race with respect. Sail for the sea.
